Christoph Bull Organ Concert “Organica” 6/2/15
June 2, 2015
First of all it was a great organ concert! Mr. Bull has an amazing technique, imagination, and creativity. The program included organ solo in the first half and collaboration with Prof. Taylor, ornithologist and Wisdom, live painter, in the second half. I enjoyed J. S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in A Minor, BWV 543 in the solo section. He created a wide range of tone color. In the collaboration part a live painter, Mr. Norton, had a huge task. In my opinion actually he had a bigger task than Mr. Bull. He drew the image from the music and interestingly he tricked us so many times. For instance he made us to think OK he is painting a lady dancer, then he would completely change the figure into something totally different. Why I am saying the painter had a bigger task is that I realized I paid attention to the painting most of time, and I forgot to listen music closely. I am not a multi tasking person… The below photo was during Ravel’s Bolero. His painting was so convincing with the music. I look forward to hearing Christoph Bull’s new creation in near future!
